| Farmed Salmon I had an interesting weekend. Had breakfast with friends from the California Coastal Commission. They were formed to protect the coast and up until now they have been effective. Arnold the Governator (do you think he looks like a condom stuffed with walnuts??) would really like to get rid of that pesky old Coastal Commission who fight the developments..dern 'em!! My friends mentioned something interesting about farmed Salmon. The "farmers" are extracting krill from the oceans at an alarming rate to feed the salmon in pools on land. This krill is the foundation for the food chain and its shocking that they are doing this. Farmed Salmon are white and are fed chemicals to turn them pink in case you aren't aware of that delicious fact. Remember in Soylent Green when the krill from the oceans fed the people? And the oceans died so the people were lied to and were then fed the corpses of their dead? Well its the same stuff only I hope we don't get to the point of cannibalism.. Human genes in the GMO rice is bad enough. Just some food for thought everybody...Mary Look Up ~ Speak Out |

| Re: Farmed Salmon Ah man, salmon is my all-time favorite!
Thank goodness for this:
"Beginning next month, supermarkets will be required to label salmon farmed or wild along with country of origin under a 2002 law. Salmon purchased in restaurants and fish markets are not covered by this law. Consumers should be aware that the word "Fresh" on the label does not mean the salmon is wild-caught from the ocean. And any salmon labeled "Atlantic" in the U.S. is almost always farmed. Salmon labeled "Atlantic" in other countries is most likely farmed." http://releases.usnewswire.com/GetRelease.asp?id=101-08102004

Well, I am glad I don't like salmon. LOL Don't really care for fish unless I have caught it myself.
