I told you you were a smart lady.
I came down with some kind of weird infection something like a boil on my right shoulder- made me sick as a dog several days. Never seen anything like it- just swelled up about half the size of your palm and about 1/4" high over about ten days- not a mark on the surface of the skin. Kinda painful when pressed and lying on it. Finally got it to start draining about a week ago- VERY nasty odor and puss and semi-solid matter coming out of it. It is better now but still not dried up- not meaning to gross anyone out, but if you see anything like this, probably best to see a doc. Almost makes me think it was a spider bite- but again, no marks on the skin until it started draining. VERY odd.

There's been so much going wrong in Iraq lately, it would be funny to hear how Cy would defend all this. Oh yeah. I guess they're just more and more "symptoms of our success". |

| Re: Re: Good News Yikes! Hope you get better quick now that it's draining. Creepy. Long ago a girlfriend and I went to Jamacia and we both came back with a horrible white pea-size boil. Her's was on her shoulder and mine was on my midriff. Oh god it was sooo painful. Even having the fabric of my shirt brush against it was insane. Neither one of us went to the doctor at the time and we should have. Well, I couldn't stand it any longer and I decided I was going to pop it. It hurt so bad tears were streaming down my face. When it popped, it was hard as a stone and blood ran down my stomach. I could get the sucker to stop bleeding. I probably could have used a stitch...lol. Anyway, it left a hole and now it's a scar! My girlfriend wouldn't pop hers and almost two years later she had it removed. I don't know how she stood the pain for so long. Hmm John, maybe a black widow got ya? We've got lots of them down here. They normally stay in hiding and only bite when they are threatened though. Hmmm. Wild. Are you using any drawing compresses, like Epsom salt?

I suspect he is in much the same mindset that the people of Nazi Germany were- until post March 1945 when they got a very rude wake up call. I am still nowhere near convinced that he and people like Jaybird Reynoldswrap aren't simply paid goobernment shills.

Christy, OUCH! Sorry to hear that!
My mother had a scar on her leg the size of a silver dollar where a BW had bit her when she was a teenager. My sister got hit by a Brown Recluse when she was on a vaction out in California a couple years ago and had to go to the local Emergency Room. A have an acquaintence who has some silver based ointment he is going to give me. I have been soaking it with Hydrogen Peroxide and mercurome- still get a very slight drainage on pressing, but nowhere near as bad as it was. One morning it looked like they were trying to film a "slasher movie" in my bathroom- I had blood droplets sprayed all across one wall...

| Re: Good News Talking about this...I found out yesterday that my Dad has some mysterious bite(?) swollen up on his arm giving him lots of pain. Mom said it swelled up like a balloon, sounding alot like yours. I hope I don't hear more of this happening...it'll make me start wondering.

| Bad news Bummer.
Tell them to keep a close weather eye on it. I know mine just appeared out of nowhere over the space of a few days. It got progressively worse, but I never saw anything that I could really call a "bite mark" on the skin. Now I have a scab about 1/4" in diameter and the skin around it is still a bit reddened- whole area about the size of a silver dollar.
If any more of this goes around I'll start wondering what the heck it is too. It almost reminds me of some of the chem warfare experiments I have seen photos of where a tiny drop of some toxin (like mustard gas for example) is put on the skin and then in a few hours you get a huge blister or other reaction.
