An excellent article, glad you posted it. The problem I have with Nixon was he took us off the gold standard (probably another attempt to "divide his enemies") and thus accelerated the slide into the massive debt we now struggle under. In any case it failed. Be interesting to see what kind of "October Surprise" (if any) washes up on the beach this year.
