 USS Enterprise
She is the finest warship in the world, bar none. She was the FIRST nuclear powered aircraft carrier and also is now the oldest of that ilk. Now once again she and her crew are sent into "harms way". I told you all before that she (Enterprise) would be the sacrifice on the Iluminutty altar to start WW-III. Enterprise should have stood down after her last cruise- now she is headed straight over the brink.
Except it WON'T work, she will come home again and be retired for good.
ALL this is illusion.

 Re: USS Enterprise
US boosts Gulf naval presence
"[The carrier] Enterprise provides navy power to counter the assertive, disruptive and coercive behaviour of some countries, as well as support to our soldiers and marines in Iraq and Afghanistan," the US navy said in a statement.

"It occurs to me that the Enterprise seems to be getting a lot more press regarding its arrival in the gulf than any of the other carriers, and I don;t think it's because the White House Press Corps are Star Trek fans.

Consider that the Enterprise was commissioned in 1961. It's 46 years old and already scheduled for decommissioning in 5 years.

Right now Bush badly needs some event to re-ignite war-fever and distract the world from his domestic scandals. Israel (which has a prior history of attacking US warships and framing other countries) certainly needs something to trick America into attacking yet another of Israel's enemies.

Maybe the USS Enterprise ought to be renamed the Lusitania?"

Apparently, I'm not the only one who can see this. If anything happens to her, remember there was advance warning. The name recognition value alone is priceless.

 Re: Re: USS Enterprise

You know Al, your premonition may be correct. 10 or 20 years ago turning the USS Enterprise into an artificial reef would have alarmed the bells and whistles but I’m afraid that today we are too complacent and need a larger fire before we start running for the extinguisher. I think you are right, but I think it’s going to be a bigger incident. UNLESS, it happens to kill a bunch of our men in the process. God forbid.
