IFTTT integration

Our radio alarm is perfect for receiving notifications and when we think notifications we think ifttt.

Using our radioalarm with ifttt is easy:
- sign up at ifttt.com
- become a ifttt maker
- create a new applet
- every applet starts with a trigger, add what ever seems to make sense to you
- add a 'Maker Webhooks' action to send notifications to your radio alarm

Thats all. Here is an example on how to use the ifttt webhook action form:

Radio Alarm

The usecase is easily explained, some of us need to wake up at certain times. This is a very old problem, the first solutions were these mechanical clocks that one had to wind up manually and which made these loud ticking noises. Unbelievable nowadays, nobody in the stress plaqued modern society would be able to find any sleep with this loud clocks in the same room, we need silence.

Than we had radio alarm clocks, the improved versions were able to retrieve a time signal from some atomic clock, which helped when you needed to unplug them. The reception was bad, specially in winter times, this drove us crazy sometimes. This devices are usually resting in the closet now, dont they.

We do not use them any more because now we have smart phones. Typicaclly its laying right next to your bed and you use one of the included default alarm tunes to wake you up. Some might be using some kind of radio alarm app, like I did.

I have never been very happy with this solutiom, I like to go offline when I sleep because I dont wont to be bothered. If you do this, the radio alarm will not work of course. Its also nice to have a clock somehwere in the room so you dont have to grab your phone to see the time. This feature got lost with the death of the mechanical clock and the radio alarm.

So I thought, why not recycle one of the old smartphones and tablet pc's that are starting to pile up at home. You do not really need an app nowadays because a website will do. They can show the time and they can start a audio stream at a certain time, at least on some browsers

You see the result at https://meixnerit.com/radioalarm/. The best feature is: you can remote control the radio alarm. You can set the alarm time, and start / stop the audio stream from a second device, for example by using the smartphone next to you.

.NET Barcode Reader SDK

If you found this page while looking for a .NET barcode reader SDK you might have already noticed that the available open source SDKs do hardly deliver any quality and the commercial SDKs are way above any reasonable budget. Who needs a complete imaging suite when you just want to read barcodes?

This was exactly the situation that motivated us to code our own barcode reader SDK.

Our SDK does not just scan an image for  barcodes, it extracts features and recombines them to barcodes. With this approach we just need to scan an image once to be able to extract any barcode, whatever his orientation might be.

Besides the barcode value you will get to know the type of every barcode found, its bounding box on the image and its orientation in radians.

  • written in pure manged C++ for extra performance
  • supported 1D barcode types: ITF, Ean, C39, C128
  • supported 2D barcode types: DataMatrix, QR, PDF417

What we can do for you

We are developing individual software using Microsofts .NET framework. Mostly we do database driven software.

Databases we are working with are Microsofts SQL Server, MySql and Oracle.

We are also doing alot of work in the imaging business. We did our own Barcode Reading SDK for .NET, which will soon be available on this site. If you have huge paper archives, we can consult you on how do digitalise those. We can help you on automatically extracting information from digitalised images, like invoice data or document classification. As we can find barcodes on images, we can also find and extract other features like stickers and form elements from images.

We can help you with PDFs and consult you on how to sign them. We can consult you on how to use OCR Software to make them searchable.

Software in the .NET area is currently mostly about MVC. We are building responsive web applications for the intranet and the internet. Of course we also did windows forms and WPF. If you feel the need to migrate any kind of software to MVC, we can help you.

We are also doing Windows Services that do their work in the background.

This site here is hosted by our own CMS. We can help you if you need a IIS based CMS which allows easy adding, editing of articles and easy embedding of image and video content. Of course it can also be used as a PDF archive.

We can bring you in touch with the best available local designers to develop your marketing design or corporate identity. They will even be happy to design your business cards.
